Helping Families Through Every Step

A pediatric cancer diagnosis can bring unexpected challenges for the entire family. Alec's Angels Foundation helps provide practical, financial, and emotional support so families can spend less time worrying about everyday burdens and more time focused on their child.

Travel Assistance

We help ease the financial burden for families who must travel for pediatric cancer treatment. Through funding provided to hospital social workers, families can receive assistance with transportation, meals, and other travel-related expenses that can quickly add up during frequent or extended treatment.

Lodging Support

Specialized pediatric cancer care can sometimes mean receiving treatment far from home. We help provide funding for hotel accommodations and other lodging needs, giving parents and caregivers the ability to remain close to their child throughout treatment.

Comfort & Child Life

Sometimes a little comfort can make a difficult day feel a little easier. We support Child Life programs by providing Worry Pets, stuffed animals, art supplies, games, LEGO sets, and other requested items that help bring comfort, distraction, play, and a sense of normalcy to children during treatment and hospital stays.

Family Support

Cancer affects the entire family, and every family's needs are different. By working with pediatric hospital social workers, we help provide funding that can be directed toward the areas where a family needs it most—helping ease some of the everyday financial and practical burdens that come with a child's cancer diagnosis.

Meet Alec

Alec Litchard was a larger-than-life kid who did everything with his whole heart. He loved football, baseball, four-wheelers, video games, his family and friends—and especially making people laugh.

During his battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma, Alec experienced firsthand the challenges families face when traveling for pediatric cancer treatment. Even during his own journey, he wanted to help other kids and their families by providing support with travel, lodging and meals, as well as comfort through his idea of giving children “Worry Pets.”

Alec’s compassion became the inspiration for Alec’s Angels Foundation, and today, his legacy continues through every family we help.
